－－－　常常在服飾店看到「suit」單字，指的是一件套裝或西裝，也有很多服飾相關的單字會搭配「suit」，但是還是有很多跟衣服八竿子打不著的用法歐，先從衣服相關的學起吧！　－－－

monkey suit（n）   正式服裝  
Do I have to wear a monkey suit to dinner?

bathing suit＝swimming suit（n）   　泳裝   

morning suit     晨禮服　 a very formal set of clothes worn by some men on occasions such as marriage ceremonies, including a long black or grey coat, striped trousers, and a top hat

➡　晨禮服是男性最高級的禮服之一，現在基本上只會在正式儀式和社交場合時穿上

suit up    盛裝打扮   If someone suits up, they put on a special suit or uniform in order to take part in a special activity or be part of a team

suit （v）   (服裝、風格、顏色) 適合...   If a piece of clothing or a particular style or color suits you, it makes you look attractive

➢　如果說衣服的尺寸適不適合，要使用「fit」，例如 The gloves didn't fit

➢  如果說明樣式或顏色搭不搭配衣服，要使用「match」 ，例如 Does this shirt match these trousers？

empty suit （n）   　金玉其外敗絮其中的人

strong suit （n） 　長處　a particular skill or ability that a person has。Mostly used in a negative sense to emphasise that someone is not good at a particular activity
Patience isn't exactly her strong suit 

➢　通常使用否定用法，強調這個不是某人的長處

birthday suit（n）    裸體    If you are in your birthday suit, you are not wearing any clothes
I don’t like to sleep in my birthday suit

➢　in one's birthday suit

suit yourself 　 隨你便（很常使用的用法，務必記下來）
A：I don't think I'll come to the party tonight
B：All right，suit yourself

suit （v） 　重意、合胃口   If something suits you, you like it 
This job suit me
Her last company did not suit her so she left
